Brand yourself, what will your elevator speech say about you?

For the past two years I have been thinking a lot of what I would brand myself. What do people think of me? How will I be remebered in the professional world when I leave an executive office? How can I place three adjectives in one order to describe my work ethic?

In the spring I attended a conference put on by a friend of mine who happens to be a business management major. The topic was about self-branding and the speaker was motivational speaker Kaplan Mowbray, author of 10 Ks of Personal Branding.

He introduced us to his 10 ks and then told us about the first opportunity that he got to give his "elevator speech."

No, an elevator speech is not a speech about elevators, or a speech that you have with yourself on a journey from the 10th floor to the 4th floor, but it is a speech that allows someone awaiting opportunity to sell their self qualities and skills that can persuade someone (possibly a CEO), to remeber you and maybe even hire you!

After the conference, I left wondering what I would want to be known for, what can I do to leave a reputable impression not just on my counterparts but people who live average lives?

I am still adding on to my "elevator speech" as I matriculate through college but the question is; Have you started rehersing your elevator speech?
